My native town is Stary Oskol. It is situated in Belgorod region, on the Oskol river. Stary Oskol  is an old town. This year we are going to celebrate it's 418 anniversary. During the Great Patriotic War it became the scene of cruel fighting.Since the war the town has risen from ruins and is finer than ever.My town is not very large.  There are about 2 hundred thousand people who live here. I like my town because it's my birth­place. There are many squares, large parks, wide streets with beau­tiful buildings, cinemas, theatres and shops. .
The main street of our town is not very long but it has a lot of modern and old buildings, shops, cafes, restaurants and bars.  There are 2 cin­emas in our town. Today people go to the cinema not so often as be­fore but young people like to do it. We are proud of our museums: historical and art. 
Our town is a town of the youth.  Hundreds of young people study at many institutes, schools, colleges.  We also have sportsgrounds, swimming-pools, gymnasiums and other good places where young people may spend their free time. I like my native town very much.  I want it always to be beautiful and clean. I’ll do every­thing for my town. Our town is very green. There are a lot of forests around it and there are many trees and flowers in the streets. Many people visit our town. It's the best one!
